Every thing
that humans use, animals use too, but unfortunately, they don't like tablets
or capsules, and normally don't like the flavors that humans medicines
come in. We can take the human drug, or in many cases the raw chemical,
measure out the correct doses, and then put it in the flavor that the
animal likes. We carry Tuna, Sardine, Fish, Cheese, Liver, marshmallow
and Beef, apple, banana, and other fruit flavors.
In some cases, where the animal is really finicky, we have the owner bring in the animals normal food, make it into a mush, and mix the drug in that, and supply a device to correctly measure the amount to give the desired dose. This is then mixed with the animals regular food. We also can provide some very bitter drugs in a form that has no taste, so the animal doesn't pull back when they taste it. We provide these for several animals at the zoo, including snakes and birds. We make special eye drops for animal use. We also get frequent orders for anti-seizure meds for dogs, antidotes for dog poisoning and hormone therapy for spayed dogs.
